Installation

ImageChunker is available exclusively for macOS.

RequirementMinimum
macOS15.0 (Sequoia) or later
ProcessorApple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4) or Intel
RAM4 GB (8 GB recommended)
Disk Space50 MB

The easiest way to install ImageChunker:

  1. Open the Mac App Store
  2. Search for “ImageChunker”
  3. Click GetInstall
  4. Open from Applications or Launchpad

After installation, enable the Finder extension for right-click integration:

  1. Open System Settings
  2. Go to Privacy & Security → Extensions → Finder
  3. Enable ImageChunker Finder Extension
  4. Restart Finder (Option-click Finder in Dock → Relaunch)

To verify everything is working:

  1. Open ImageChunker
  2. Drop any image onto the window
  3. If processing works, you’re all set!

For the Finder extension:

  1. Right-click any image in Finder
  2. Look for “Chunk with ImageChunker” in the menu
  3. If visible, the extension is active
  • Ensure you’re running macOS 15.0 or later
  • Check System Settings → Privacy & Security for any blocked apps
  • Confirm it’s enabled in System Settings → Extensions → Finder
  • Restart Finder (Option-click Finder icon → Relaunch)
  • Try signing out and back into your Mac
  • ImageChunker needs access to your files
  • Grant access when prompted, or manually in Privacy & Security → Files and Folders

To remove ImageChunker:

  1. Quit ImageChunker if running
  2. Open Applications in Finder
  3. Drag ImageChunker to Trash
  4. Empty Trash

The Finder extension is automatically removed with the app.

To remove preferences:

rm ~/Library/Preferences/com.griffin.ImageChunker.plist
